This is an opportunity to join this incredible 8-day trek through Ethiopia’s Sanetti Plateau. The tour includes exploring the city of Addis Ababa and the amazing Ethiopian countryside.

What is the Sanetti Plateau?

Averaging 4000m in altitude, the Sanetti Plateau, also known as the Roof Top of Africa, is the highest plateau on the African continent. Explore this formidable landscape on an 8-day guided trek, beginning at the village of Dinsho and ending at the lichen-covered Harenna Forest.

Along the way you’ll observe the region’s unique and beautiful wildlife, from Ethiopian Red Wolves to Colobus Monkeys. You’ll also have the chance to learn about the culture and farming practices of the nomadic herders, who graze their flocks on the plateau.

The tour, which is organised by YellowWood Adventures, is designed for beginner and intermediate trekkers – you’ll walk a maximum of five hours a day. All meals, transfers and guides are included in the price. Accommodation is also included and you’ll be staying in either a lodge, hotel or campsite.

There are two tour dates for 2018: May 12-20 and November 17-25. Prices start from £1,299 per person, based on two people sharing a twin room.

Fun fact: our Editor-in-Chief, Sharron Livingston, will be taking part in tour on May 12-20. If you’d like to join her on this date, quote “Q4478TXF” when you fill in the booking form and receive a 10% discount.
