I wonder if you could tell be if Boxing Day is...
I wonder if you could tell be if Boxing Day is a recognised holiday in France? For instance, would all the shops be closed on that day? Thank you.
Boxing Day is not a public holiday in France so shops will be open (including Cite Europe, Carrefour, Auchan etc). Good Friday for example is not a public holiday although Easter Monday is for some, ie. Cite Europe and Carrfour open but Auchan closed. If a French Public Holiday falls on a Sunday then in effect they lose the day off so not always as many holidays as we think they have!
