I travel to India alot (9 times in the past 48 months) and have always bought a 6 months VISA. With 9 VISA's in my passport, would it be possible to get a 1 or 5 year VISA? My next trip is to teach and do misionary work at an orphanage. Would this help in getting a longer VISA?
We would advise that you apply for a two-year multiple entry business visa. For this type of visa, you will need an invitation letter from the orphanage to explain the purpose of your stay. The Embassy may take a few extra days to process this type of application, so remember to start the application process in good time. If the missionary work is paid, you will need to apply for an employment visa and submit your contract of employment, as well as your letter of invitation. The five-year visa is another option, but it is only open to Indian nationals or Indian-born UK citizens. Embassy requirements are subject to change, so it’s always worth checking an online information source like The Visa Company’s for the most accurate and up-to-the-minute information, including downloadable application forms and other documentation.
