Is it best to get my currency in the UK or in Prague when I get there?

Either get your currency before you travel, look around for the best deals. Marks and Spencer and the Post Office often offer the best rates and deals for currency. An alternative way is to simply use the ATM machines in the Czech Republic.  There are plenty at the airport so you can get some local currency as soon as you arrive. I use this method and although there is often a charge for using the cash machine, you tend to get a better exchange rate and you're not carrying around all the cash for your holiday.

Chip and Pin card services are widely used in Prague, and you can pay in all cafe's, restaurants and bars with cards, so you shouldn't need too much cash, just for taxis and public transport.
