We have been told by a restaurant in Le Touquet that Monday 7 May is a bank holiday. Is this correct and if so, will the shops in the town be open.

Traditionally the shops are closed on bank holidays, the exceptions being in the run up to Christmas. So although you may find the odd supermarket open, most shops will be closed. Refer to www.channelhoppers.net for a full list of bank holidays in France.
