I understand Speedferries has gone into liquidation. Is there currently a direct route from Dover to Boulogne? Also what would you recommend for the kids in Boulogne?

Speedferries is no longer operating the Dover to Boulogne route. Luckily LD Lines has a new Dover to Boulogne service with daily sailings from Dover at 7am and 12.30pm, returning at 10.45am and 4.15pm (6pm Sat). Fares start from £24 each way for a car and four passengers. Book online at www.ldlines.com or call 0844 576 8836.

While there, be sure to visit Nausicaa aquarium. The kids will love the exotic marine species, fish, sharks and whales and the friendly rays who love to have their underbelly stroked. More information at www.nausicaa.fr
