Cook in the Caribbean
Holland America Line (HAL) invites Brits to come onboard a 12-night Caribbean cruise, departing 8 November, and cook with UK Michelin Star Chef Billy Reid from the Belvedere restaurant in London. Flamb? a steak or perfect a souffl? with guest Chef Reid on hand to share his best trade secrets whilst you sail through the Caribbean.
Onboard the elegant Maasdam Reid will be offering HAL guests complimentary cooking demonstrations and culinary classes in the ship's state-of-the-art Culinary Arts Theatre - the 'show kitchen at sea'. Cruise guests will be able to take part in regular one-hour complimentary culinary demonstrations, group sessions and one-to-one cooking classes*, a real chance to learn all the tricks of the trade.
The Culinary Arts Theatre's innovative style and layout provides the perfect teaching environment, each featuring a large plasma video screen to display overhead and close-up video views of the food preparation and a large display counter where guests can learn new cooking techniques and dishes. The Theatres are just one of the enhancements of HAL's 'Signature of Excellence' programme, which has now been completed onboard the entire fleet.
Reid follows in the footsteps of many top American Chefs who've joined HAL on a variety of culinary cruises, including Michelle Bernstein, Chef and Owner of MB in Cancun in Mexico, Brad Farmerie, Head Chef of Public New York and Cornelius Gallagher, Head Chef Oceana in New York. Reid?s own prestigious track record includes The Ritz and the Michelin Starred L'Escargot and Vineyard.
