My partner and I recently returned from a trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The best way to experience the food is by eating in street cafes/kiosks. Most of KL's major areas have one or two streets allocated to about a dozen kiosks.Majority of them run by the Malays are halal(acceptable to Muslims)and clean. Two people can eat a huge meal for AUD$3 including drinks in total. Do not bother eating at fancy restaurants as the food is much better in these cafes.
