Turquoise find the most romantic places on earth
Top 10 Honeymoon Destinations
Here at Turquoise, we take great pride in choosing the right honeymoon destinations for all of our clients. We look for the ultimate in romance wherever we choose but more importantly fit the destination to the couple who is booking with us. We’ve managed to narrow down the list of our favourite honeymoon destinations to just ten – hopefully there will be something for everyone in our list!
10. Baraza in Zanzibar is a new, all-villa retreat, located on the south eastern coast of Zanzibar – rated one of the top thirty island beaches in the world recently by Conde Nast! Baraza is captivating and exotic, with a touch of Swahili architecture and private plunge pools in every villa.
9. Baros Maldives has been one of our favourite for years. Charming, set on the North Male Atoll, with a great reef for scuba diving, Baros is perfect for the couple that wants to get away from it all and experience island life to the fullest.
8. Makanyane Safari Lodge is set in the midst of the South African forest. No fuss, malaria free, this lodge is located within the Madikwe Game Reserve, one of the best places to spot the ‘Big Five’ in action. Graceful and luxurious but still full of local flavour, Makanyane has a lot to offer.
7. Pangkor Laut Resort in Malaysia is set on a privately owned island, accessible only by speedboats from Lumut. Characterised by pristine beaches, extensive bays, and lush rainforests, Pangkor Laut is a true paradise in the midst of a jungle.
6. Ol Seki Mara Camp in Kenya has all the hallmarks of the birthplace of the safari. Small and eco-conscious, this camp is perfect for the nature loving couple who are aware of the impact they have on the environment.
5. Denis Island on the Seychelles is a truly magical experience, ideal for the couple who truly want it all for their honeymoon. The island is family owned with intimate service and total seclusion from the rest of the world – the fun ranges from deep sea fishing to diving to simply relaxing with a picnic on your own secluded stretch of beach.
4. Likuliku Lagoon is the home of Fiji’s very first overwater bures. Even the beachfront bures are situated on a dreamlike white sand beach – it fits many the romantic dream of beach lovers! You can be as active or as spoiled as you’d like at Likuliku Lagoon, and with all-inclusive meals, need never lift a finger.
3. Capella Lodge, on Australia’s Lord Howe Island, is a true Australian treasure. It’s just two hours’ from Sydney or Brisbane, making it perfect for a twin centre holiday, and Lord Howe Island itself is a genuine sanctuary. The island has a UNESCO World Heritage listing and feels remote, luxurious, and contemporary in such a lovely setting.
2. The Residence Zanzibar is one of our newest offerings but has truly taken off since the moment we added it to our site. All sixty-six villas are built to the highest standards with private pools and set on pristine beaches. The world-famous Kizimkazi dolphin safaris are just twenty minutes’ drive away.
1. The Oberoi Mauritius is truly one of the most romantic properties on offer anywhere in the world. The Oberoi is inspired by the best of Mauritian culture, set on a gorgeous white sand beach, and nestled within lush tropical gardens. Enjoying a candlelit dinner on your own private terrace is, simply, unbeatable.
