Escape the Cold Winter with a Cruise

British winters are miserable

Winter weather

Picture the scene. The driveway is blocked with half a metre of snow, your car won’t even start, and the boiler’s gone. There’s a very good reason why we Brits love talking about the weather so much, and that reason is our freezing cold and unpredictable winter.

As soon as we finish sloshing through the May showers, we can expect a few weeks of mild sun – if we’re lucky. Then, it’s back on with the expensive heating and thick, winter coats for the cold months ahead.

Warm weeks away

It’s a foregone conclusion that British winters are miserable. But if you’re smart and plan ahead, you could have a holiday away in a warmer climate. You’ll make the most of your money and have something to look forward to at the same time.

So, why not switch that snowy scene for something much more enticing? Perhaps you’re reclining on a sun lounger on the deck of a stunning superliner, caught between finishing a great book and gazing out at the crystal blue sea. Or, maybe you are enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail with a loved one, as the sun dips gently into the watery horizon.

We can’t put the British winter on hold, but you can choose to escape it with a sunny winter break.

Chill out on a cruise

There are plenty of great value cruise deals on offer for this coming winter. P&O, for example, bucks the trend of the traditional cruise, which is wrongly seen as a luxury, only for the super-rich. They have a wide range of affordable options for the whole family and romantic getaways for couples.

As well as value for money, P&O cruises have a fantastic legacy. With over 170 years of experience in the cruising business, and seven superliners – all with the ‘wow’ factor you’d expect from a holiday on the high seas – you know you’ll be in safe hands.

The Caribbean, with its guaranteed sunny weather, is a popular choice for winter sun breaks. But if you fancy a cheaper option and something closer to home, there are lots of cheap Med cruises which might take your fancy. Southern Europe enjoys lovely weather throughout the year – perfect for anyone in search of a warm holiday without the scorch factor.

So, what are you waiting for? Early birds can avoid the booking frenzy and find great deals online.
