Indian International airline, Jet Airways, is to launch a non-stop service from Manchester to Mumbai, as part of its commitment to open up travel between India and the UK.

The service, which commences on November 05, 2018, will operate four days a week including Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Passengers will benefit from the comfort of the airline’s wide body Airbus A330-200, comprising 254 seats including 18 in Premiere that will operate on this service.

This new flight will make Jet Airways the largest carrier between the UK and Mumbai, complementing its three daily non-stop services between London Heathrow and Mumbai.

Vinay Dube, Chief Executive Officer, Jet Airways said:

The new service will bring Manchester into our global network, reinforcing our global footprint, as well as expanding the choice of connectivity to and from the United Kingdom for our guests.

As well providing a further boost to tourism in India, the new service is likely to benefit a large number of business travellers, given Manchester’s position as Europe’s second largest digital hub. It will also provide a welcome service to families living in Manchester who wish to visit their relatives in Mumbai.

Manchester Airport CEO Andrew Cowan, added:

We have worked, along with a range of partners, to create a compelling case for why our city – and the wider North – is a great place to visit, invest in and do business with. I am delighted Jet Airways have recognised this by launching what I’m sure will be a hugely popular service, not least for the 500,000 people of Indian origin living across the North.

Special economy fares are expected to cost as little as £400 return and are available to book now on the Jet Airways website.
