Europeans are entitled to free or reduced cost meical treatment in most European countries. The E111 form proves your entitlement to it, and is useful if you are taken ill or have an accident abroad. Pick one up at the post office.
Editor's Note: Three years ago the EHIC replaced the E111 form. It entitles you to reduced cost or free healthcare in most European countries if you fall ill or have an accident whilst abroad.
