According to Expedia, Marrol's Boutique Hotel in Bratislava, Slovakia was voted the world's top hotel. Eastern Europe features highly overall.

Expedia's Insider Select report, which compared 650 hotels across 295 cities in 74 countries around the world, found that Marrol's Boutique Hotel in Bratislava, Slovakia was voted as the world's best hotel.
Marrol's Boutique Hotel customers were particulary impressed by a number of hotel services such as a free minibar with daily top-ups, a computer in every room and free Wi-Fi for guests that prefer to bring their own. What guests commented on with particular enthusiasm was the hotels superior level of personal customer service and staff professionalism.
Expedia says that two fifths of Marrol's bookings were made by UK customers. Richard from the West Midlands noted, "We were going out for our first walk and it had just started to drizzle, the doorman immediately offered us a hotel umbrella to take with us."
In adition to Bratislava, 7 other Eastern European hotels made it to Expedia's Top 100, with Expedia noting a 30% increase on average in European bookings to destinations such as Poland, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Estonia and Latvia.
