P&O Say 'Bag A Bargain With Us'

Lack of restrictions is a major selling point

9 February 2007

P&O Ferries has seized the opportunity presented by ever-increasing airline baggage charges and conditions to launch a 'bring it on' campaign.

"When it comes to flying, it'll soon be cheaper to book a second person to carry another bag for you, rather than pay extra charges," said Simon Johnson, Director of Sales and Marketing at P&O Ferries.  "We've added: 'P&Ople come with a lot of baggage' to our marketing campaign to remind people to bring it on.  Our lack of restrictions is now a major selling point.

Passenger numbers at P&O Ferries sailed past the ten million mark last year as the company fought back against airlines with a 'sail and drive' marketing campaign.

The total number of passengers carried across the company's route network rose three per cent to 10.1 million, with tourist vehicles up four per cent to 1.8 million.
