- A ride on the fascinating new GoldenPass Express from the lakeside resort of Montreux to idyllic Interlaken. Opened in 2022, this modern locomotive offers passengers panoramic views of breathtaking mountain vistas. The route is a feat of engineering of which the Swiss are rightly proud and has been more than 100 years in the making. Innovative technology allows the train to adapt its gauge, negating the need to change trains at Zweisimmen. As such, the non-stop GoldenPass Express opens up an incredible route direct between Montreux and Interlaken.
- A visit to Europe’s highest viewpoint via the Eiger Express and Jungfrau Express. This breathtaking trip takes travellers to towering heights overlooking the mighty Aletsch Glacier. The Eiger Express gondola takes travellers up to the Eigergletscher station in under 20 minutes, while panoramic windows provide incredible views of the alpine meadows below, before passing close to the north face of the imposing Eiger. This is the only Great Rail Journeys tour featuring this state-of-the-art mode of transport.
- A boat cruise on sparkling Lake Thun aboard a vintage pleasure craft. Views along the way include charming villages, stately peaks and the enchanting Spiez Castle.
