The 4-star Niepce Hotel unfolds over a handsome row of 19th-century townhouses in the 14th district of Paris by the left bank of the Seine. This charming boutique hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre on a quiet road.
Yet inside there is plenty of drama. The decor is weaved with gold and therenis a fantastic display of photography. The hotel is owned by the acclaimed French humanist photographer Janine Niepce and her photography can be admired in the lobby, in the hallways and even on bedroom ceilings.

This hotel would be suitable for most people. Montparnasse is a modern area of Paris with office buildings and somewhat residential. Many go to meet over a fabulous lunch at Verriere restaurant and those that stay get to enjoy gorgeous decor, and very comfy beds.

Neipce Hotel has 52 rooms including three suites. Though a small hotel, rooms are surprisingly spacious and beautifully designed with brass lampshades, plush drapes and gold scatter cushions. It’s a good look.
Rooms come with an ensuite shower, a desk, a TV and Nespressomcoffee facilities, a safe, a hairdryer, an iron and ironing board. Conveniently you can control the lighting from the bedside.
Food & Drink
La Verrière gastronomic restaurant in Niepce Hotel is a bit of a stunner. Gold lampshades hang down while a wall of fifty or so wines seem to jostle with a “drink me” vibe. The a la carte menu has starters such pan fired duck foie gras, and cod ceviche.
The mains included a three-course salmon dish that came in a tower of dishes containing salmon fillet cooked at low temperature, roasted salmon and poached salmon in a grey shrimp broth.
Dishes were paired with wines offering a satisfying gastronomic experience.
Facilities
Niepce hotel offers a small but adequate gym and generally brilliant service.
