Couples’ Rasul
Why: For something unconventional you could slather your other half in mud. You will get to spend time in a couples’ rasul – a closed off area in a The Verbena Spa – in this snug, Victorian style boutique hotel, and smother therapeutic muds onto each other’s body. It’s an activity inspired by an ancient bathing ritual.
What you get: You and your partner are given a platter of the therapeutic muds. You will use an exfoliator to sweep away any dead skin then smooth on the clays and head into a steamy private room to relax. The different types of mud will detox and improve skin tone by promising to absorb toxins. A monsoon-type shower then washes off the treatment.
Different colours of mud guide where on the body couples should apply them – the lightest on the more sensitive areas such as the face through to the darkest on more robust areas like the legs.
