His walking adventures have taken him all over the world, from the Alps to the Himalayas, and he loves those long distance trails where you hike from hut to hut, carrying the world on your back. These days, however, he’s not averse to having his baggage transferred and building up an appetite for a big dinner in a comfortable hotel. After all, hiking is meant to be enjoyable, not an SAS challenge. Still, every trip there’s somewhere new to write about and his favourite destination is always the next one.
@type":"ImageObject","@id":"https://www.thetravelmagazine.net/wp-content/uploads/Rupert-Parker_avatar_1533716992-96x96.jpg
{"@type":"Organization
The Travel Magazine
@type":"ImageObject","@id":"https://www.thetravelmagazine.net/wp-content/uploads/TTM_logo_background_alt-300x100.png
{"@type":"ImageObject","@id":"https://www.thetravelmagazine.net/wp-content/uploads/Maslina-Resort-Sunset-Diners.jpg
["Hvar
1
@type":"Comment","@id":"https://www.thetravelmagazine.net/hotel-review-maslina-resort-hvar-croatia/#Comment1
2022-07-09 13:06:11
"...and Venetian villages. It’s passed through the hands of Greeks, Romans, Slavs, Turks, Venetians, Austrians and now Croats..."
CORRECTION
The villages on the island are not Venetian they are authentic Croatian Dalmatian villages, Stari Grad the islands city has Venetian influences in architecture.
Second the island was never in the hands of "Slavs", only Croatians, they were the native slavic people that came to the coast and the islands centuries ago after Greeks and Romans left and developed their culture including on this island under bigger colonizing forces (Venice, Austria), Turks never really had anything to do much with the islands or this island till they finally reached their independence.
I suggest more thorough and better research next time.
@type":"Person
Lulu
"}}]}]}
