Hegra, Saudi Arabia: Candlelight Concert in the desert

A unique duo of candlelight concerts in the UNESCO archeological site of Hegra.

On Christmas Eve the Saudi Arabian desert came alive with an intimate repertoire of light and music. 

A Candlelight Concert was performed live by the famous South African musical director Stefan Lombard ensemble and comprised the piano, violin, cello and the oud. surrounded by the archeological UNESCO site of Hegra (AlUla) in the Saudi Arabian desert.

A mesmerised audience were treated to musical pieces from classic compositions to contemporary Arab movie soundtracks and a revised take on pop music while 500 high-tech hand-sculptured candles flickered over 100 monumental tombs carved from rock formations.

This is the first time an event of this intimacy has ever taken place here thanks to the  Balich Wonder Studio, the live entertainment group famed as leaders in the creation and production of large-scale ceremonies, events and shows, brand and territorial experiences worldwide.

The next  Candle Light is concert is due on New Year’s Eve  December 31st 2021.
