Body&Soul Festival (Co. Westmeath, Ireland, June 2018)

Marking the Summer Solstice in Ireland, Body&Soul Festival returns for 2018 for a weekend of music, wellbeing and relaxation.

What

Sitting in the beautiful grounds of Ballinlough Castle, Body&Soul Festival aims to provide a weekend of sensory exploration with an extensive programme of music artists, immersive theatre, art installations, gastronomic experiences, and indulgent wellbeing areas.

The independent festival, which is open to 15,000 people, places authenticity, creativity, relaxation and discovery at its centre. Its ethos has evolved out of deep loyalty to Irish culture and celebrating the Celtic calendar, with everyone coming together to mark the Solstice.

The theme of this year’s festival is Alchemy – the art and act of transformation.

The festival takes place on the Summer Solstice Weekend from June 22 – 24 June 2018.

How Much

Tickets start from €169. Sunday only tickets will be available from mid-March for €70.

Campervan passes are currently on sale for €60, bus tickets will be available shortly. A separate ticket to the event is also required.

What’s On

Swedish artist Fever Ray has been announced as the first act. As the alter ego of Karin Dreijer, Fever Ray combines electronic music with rich visuals and costumes. The rest of the music line-up will be announced shortly.

Guests can expect a programme of acoustic, soul and electronica. The Body&Soul mainstage is handcrafted using fallen trees from Ballinlough and other stages include the Midnight Circus, the Woodlands Stage, and the Reckless in Love late night stage.

Masseuses, therapists, yogis and sound healers await in the Sanctuary tent, with the Spa available with treatments such as seaweed baths, woodfired hot tubs, Balinese steam treatments and turmeric tonics.

The culinary line-up is headlined by Food on Board, providing ethical and locally sourced food from some of Ireland’s most innovative gourmet producers paired with champagne.

Hidden art installations, immersive theatre experiences and impromptu spoken word performances also await discovery in the expansive grounds. Expect incisive political discussion, insightful workshops and a lively programme of children’s events.
