British Airways is to pay black cab fares for its premium customers travelling to and from Heathrow.

The offer is open to anyone travelling in first or club class living within 100 miles of Terminal 5.

Richard Tams, BA’s head sales for the UK and Ireland, said: “There is no better way to travel to and from Heathrow than in a black cab.

“You can use the M4 bus lane to beat the traffic queues, and you have the most knowledgeable drivers in London at your service.

“This is a fantastic additional service for premium customers whether they live in Belgravia, Bath or Birmingham.”

The airline says the offer builds on its Backing Britain campaign, which offers £15 million of free flights to small and medium-sized businesses.

The free cab service started this week and will run for an initial three-month trial period.
