Civil Aviation Authority offers Atol Protection for holidaymakers
Holidaymakers that have been affected by the collapse of Goldtrail are protected by the Civil Aviation Authority's insurance scheme.
Those who booked package deals through the failed company can apply for refunds and any out-of-pocket expenses via the Air Travel Organiser's Licensing website.
Atol will NOT
- pay for rebooking a new trip
- refund travel insurance
- award compensation
Refunds are usually made within six weeks of a claim.
Those who bought accommodation only from Goldtrail are NOT covered by Atol and these customers should contact their credit card issuer about recovering money paid for accommodation.
If hotels were booked through a travel agent, regulator Abta runs a compensation scheme and your travel agent can offer assistance.
